I.D.™ Newsletter: Leadership

Newsletter

Heading into any New Year I challenge myself to really take a look at what I’m setting out to achieve as a leader, and with 2010 kicking off a whole new decade I’ve been really digging deep around the answers to two key questions:

  • What am I going to do to grow as a leader this year – in all my leadership roles – including as a CEO, father and member of various communities?
  • What is it going to take to shift me out of my comfort zone and help me be truly transformational as a leader – so that the things I do create real and positive change for our clients, my own team and my family - and help them to transform in ways they see as adding to their success and fulfilment in life?

Working through these questions has helped me get  intentional about where I focus my thinking along with identifying what I need to be doing more of, less of, or differently to achieve the results I’m looking for – and I  encourage you to see what comes up for you when  you ask yourself the same questions.

I’m passionate about exploring every aspect of how individuals can grow and develop to be successful leaders.  I know a lot of you share my passion – it was great to see that over 90% of the respondents in our recent survey requested additional information on this topic and we’re delighted to be giving you more of what you want in this newsletter.

We hope you enjoy what we’ve put together and I encourage you to use the resources as a trigger to getting  clear on the leader you want to be – for this year – and this decade!

Have a great year of leadership and please look out for further I.D.™  resources to grow and find success and fulfillment in every area of your life.

Warmest Regards,
paulsmall

 YOUR 2010 LEADERSHIP RESOLUTIONS

An article from Makis Chysanthos, I.D.™ Black Belt and APAC Consultant Director of Link-up Consulting

A new year, and in this case a new decade, often finds us looking back on our lives and thinking about what we’d like to be different in the future.  I always get intensively reflective around this time, looking at past mistakes and bad habits, but quickly shifting my focus to the year ahead and setting new goals and commitments.

I’m fascinated to learn about the New Year resolutions my friends and family make.  This year, hearing about their intentions to lose weight, quit smoking and exercise more, my thinking went to a new place: how can leaders apply the same concept of making resolutions to their leadership?...

Hallmark Signs of a Great Leader:
While leading a team or organisation may have you constantly thinking about where you need to be next and what you need to be doing - the best leaders turn their attention to who they are being and the real value they are creating.

Would You Follow You?:
In this video, Paul sets the challenge to assess your level of followship and your ability to attract others to join you on your journey. Based on his work with top leaders around the globe, he asserts that beyond good metrics and business performance; it is the degree to which others are inspired to follow you that really gauges your effectiveness, impact and longevity as a leader.
