Behaviour, Personality and I.D.™
For centuries, there has been rigorous debate about whether human beings are the product of nature or nurture. What our work with I.D.™ shows is that without a doubt we are products of both, nature and nurture.
Like an onion, a human being is made up of layers and at the core is the essential, natural self - I.D. - which does not change over time. I.D. is a way of understanding what our nature is - what really drives and motivates us.
Surrounding the core of I.D. are much more flexible layers that combine to make you the person you are today. These layers are the elements of your life that are influenced by nurture and they explain why people with exactly the same I.D. can express themselves completely differently. This is what personality tests and psychometric profiles measure, where as the I.D. questionnaire measures the nature side of the equation.
When two people have the same I.D., their behaviour, what they do, can be quite different. What is common for both, however, is the underlying drive - why they do it.
Two people driven by the Instinct to Verify™, for example, are both driven to 'get things right', but their definitions of right might be completely different, perhaps because of the way they were raised. While one might have been brought up with a set of strict moral codes and values, the other might have been brought up with a very different definition of 'right', displaying behaviours that might seem quite unacceptable, or 'wrong' to others.
I.D. brings a new and deeper level of self awareness that fosters a personal growth journey, whether that be for personal development, leadership development, improved communication skills or relationship help, that has proven, lasting success.
